A quick clarification, I think CCE is the least woke place in education right now. We at the ACCS are just trying to keep it that way. If you're in a classical Christian school, you're in the right place.
Hey Adrian, I read your Substack as well! I am just getting going with Substack, I would love your feedback on mine if you have a second to look at it! https://codyilardo.substack.com/
I see your concern and I’ll raise you. Classical Academic Press, one of the so-called classical Christian curriculum houses, is at least “woke-lite” and I think it will only get worse. They are Uber-concerned about “diversity” and not nearly concerned enough about academic quality or biblical fidelity.
I am a late responder to this post, as I have just now stumbled onto this SubStack via Dr. Gaty’s. It was gratifying to see that someone had publicly critiqued JHW’s piece. Honestly, I could only skim its contents as I was so put off by the title, esp as a parent of three such educated offspring and as someone who has long labored in the field of Christian racial reconciliation. The little I could stand to read seemed “precious” and a wee bit self-congratulatory.
Of course not long after it was published, those innocent Christian students were gunned down by, shall we say, a young person who tragically embodied—a pointed choice of words—all the cultural toxins and lostness of the present age and whose “manifesto” is to be shielded from the public lest it reflect badly on the cultural sensibilities of The Frankfort School. I do wonder if JHW senses that her piece “ has not aged well,” as we say nowadays.
Although since then JHW has had a near death labour and delivery episode which may have altered her priorities. It would be nice to think that she might choose to devote more of her time raising her young children than trying to save the world from the evils of unwoke Christian education.

Thank you for all you do! You might like this piece, about a neat historical example of the Christian roots of public education:

Yeah, well, they better an extra soy latte because it's gonna take all day.
Thank you for your Substack. Do you know about the FPEA Homeschool Conference in Central Florida in May?
