Dateline: Extra, September 15, in the Year of our Lord 2022
The “Miseducation of America” documentary occupies the right-leaning FOX Nation subscription service as it promotes classical Christian education. So how does the Left see things? Interestingly, this week NBC released a series on “Christian Nationalism” on its streaming service that began with a feature about Christ Church, Moscow, ID. Chuck Todd of NBC’s Meet the Press introduces the topic with his signature bitter leftist bent. TDS (Trump derangement syndrome) has ruined Todd. But, I will give credit to NBC’s Anne Thompson who traveled to Moscow and interviewed Douglas Wilson. Oh, she is clearly unconvinced. And, she makes her leftist position clear. But, that old journalistic ethic of objective reporting at least allowed Wilson to speak his mind. Thank you Anne.
For those who are unaware, Wilson, among the countless things he has started, started the Association of Classical Christian Schools, of which I am presently President. The ACCS, with Wilson’s blessing, has since become an instrument of its members and we continue to promote classical Christian education. But, we also believe in “all of Christ for all of life”, as Wilson has long proclaimed. Wilson’s influence in the ACCS was willfully yielded by him years ago. But, Wilson’s unwavering commitment to a Christian town that glorifies God, rather than man, is a refreshing, though unpopular reality. I present this piece here to encourage a dialog rather than a dogmatic antagonism. We’re all better off when we listen and learn. Anne and Doug may be polar opposites, but Moscow’s model is worth consideration.
UPDATE: #2: An extended version of the interview. I’m thankful that Wilson said NBC’s piece wasn’t a hit piece. I think we throw around hyperbole too much. It was biased, but both sides got their points in. Wilson’s further explanations of several controversies in this video were helpful to understand the real Douglas Wilson.
UPDATE: For the full half-hour show, with commentary at the end, you can use this link. Note the absence of a true defender of traditional Christianity in the round table.

For someone who claimed in 2016 that Douglas Wilson wasn’t that involved with ACCS, you sure do seem to be indebted to him and have an unhealthy worship of him.
